for the Advancement of Women’s Whole Health Through Tree of Life Campaign
Dec. 2011 – Thanks to the combined efforts of Shoppers Drug Mart, its employees and customers, the Midland area will now have improved access to services and programming supporting women’s whole health as Shoppers Drug Mart’s 2011 Tree of Life fundraising campaign has raked in $2,423 for La maison Rosewood Shelter in Midland.
The Tree of Life campaign donates 100 per cent of its proceeds to women’s health organizations ensuring women have even greater access to services and information they need to stay health in mind, body and spirit. This year, funds were raised through a bake sale, garage sale, karaoke and a lottery and the purchase of campaign paper leaves.
La maison Rosewood Shelter, a program of Huronia Transition Homes, believes that all violence against all women and children must end. This donation will help support the shelter’s services, including: 24 hour telephone crisis support; emergency shelter for homeless and abused women and their children; individual counselling; support groups; advocacy; information and referrals; legal support; outreach services; public education and community development; and transitional support.
