Indigenous Crisis Counsellor

We are currently hiring an Indigenous Crisis Counsellor for our La Maison Rosewood location. Working in a fast paced environment and meeting multiple demands of residents, this First Nations-designated position works rotating shifts of 12.5 hours, with both day and night shifts required.

Qualifications:
• Knowledge and understanding of cultural and traditional practices;
• Knowledge of the impacts of violence against women, an understanding of harm reduction;
• The ability to provide telephone and in person crisis counselling services including information exchange, referrals and emotional support;
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
• Communication skills in Anishinaabemowin and/or French language preferred.
