Choices for Children in Barrie program begins March 4th

Choices for Children is a ten week program for mothers and their children ages 5-15 who have experienced and survived women abuse.  We will be coming back to the Barrie area in March to hold another 10 week program.

Huronia Transitio Homes SNAP'd PictureDec. 6th has become the “Remembrance Day” for violence against women in Canada and La Maison Rosewood Shelter held their “The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women” ceremony at The Midland Town Hall where many came to remember the 14 women killed at l’Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal and the 25 women killed by their partners and the 6 children killed this year as a result of domestic violence in Ontario.

Community members were asked to reflect upon ongoing violence against women, and disorient the normalization of such violence.For more information please visitwww.huroniatransitionhomes.ca
