National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Share in social media:

Please join us on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on Friday, December 6.

December 6 was established in 1991 to recognize violence against women, the day commemorates the tragic murders of 14 women at L’École Polytechnique in 1989.  The women were killed because they are women, and tragically, more women are murdered each and every year at the hands of men.  This year a total of 27 women have been murdered in Ontario as a result of gender-based violence.

We will honour the women murdered by their male partners in Ontario this year, and call our community to take action in ending these senseless crimes against women.

When: Friday, December 6, 2013

Time: 5:30pm – 8:00pm

Where: Midland Public Library
